Victorious Hermit Books is a nonprofit publishing house specializing in Christian poetry and nonfiction. We make books to build up—writing that directs hearts toward God. Named after one of Søren Kierkegaard's pseudonyms, Victorious Hermit is committed to imitating Kierkegaard's approach to publishing as a calling: an earnest means by which to glorify God, rather than a platform-seeking or money-making endeavor.

 

All revenue will go either toward compensating authors for their work, production costs for new books (always 100% human-written, human-edited, and human-illustrated, with a no-tolerance-for-AI policy), or to our donation program, Books For the Church, gifting prison libraries and small churches the books and funding they need to establish theological libraries. We hope that in time, these costs will be roughly even: Half to production, and half to Books For the Church.​​

 

We've seen firsthand just how powerful good books can be in drawing people to Christ, and we want to continue that work.
