Victorious Hermit Books is a nonprofit press specializing in Christian poetry and nonfiction. We publish books that build up—writing that directs hearts toward God. Named after one of Søren Kierkegaard's pseudonyms, Victorious Hermit is committed to imitating Kierkegaard's approach to writing, pursuing it as an earnest calling by which to glorify Christ, rather than a platform-seeking or money-making endeavor.

 

All revenue from our work will go either toward production costs for new books (always 100% human-written, with a no-tolerance-for-AI policy), or to our fledgling donation program, Books for the Church, gifting prison libraries and small churches books and funding to establish theological libraries. (Among other books, these libraries will of course include copies of some of our favorite S.K. titles: Upbuilding Discourses in Various Spirits, Practice in Christianity, Works of Love, Eighteen Upbuilding Discourses, and The Sickness Unto Death.)
